What is a Cord

A cord of firewood is the only legal measurement of firewood. Firewood must be sold by fractions of a cord. A cord is 128 cubic feet once stacked. We have found that 180-190 cubic feet of not stacked 16 inch split firewood will stack out to one full cord. Most Firewood providers use 170 cubic feet or less.
